Procurement is an organisation’s most powerful profit
improvement lever, representing anywhere between 30%
and 80% of a company’s revenues, depending on the
industry.
Rapidly evolving technologies and the emergence of
new business models have contributed to the sudden
expansion in cost-reduction and growth opportunities
associated with procurement. Most businesses, however,
are unsure about how to transform their procurement
organisations to constantly reduce procurement costs
while maximizing value from supplier relationships.
Axios helps our clients reduce costs, enhance
shareholder value and achieve high performance by
cutting operating expenses, improving capital
allocations and generating new revenue streams. Our
world-class methodologies and tools frequently produce
savings of 5% - 15% of the addressed spend and savings
generally happen quickly, freeing capital to make
additional procurement initiatives self-financing.

Case Study
The Client
This public body had been formed many years earlier
and had merged with a number of other bodies.
The Challenge
The client recognised that it faced capacity and
capability issues within its procurement function.
They also recognised that they required a level of
stability whilst going through a major change
programme. The client had a number of highly sensitive
and business critical procurement activities that
needed to be resolved within an extremely tight timeframe.
The Solution
We acted as lead procurement advisor on the
Sustainable Procurement Policy, specifically in
relation to the targets set by the Sustainable
Procurement Taskforce.
This involved assisting in the process mapping of all
procurement procedures including a £300m framework
agreement for temporary staff.
A Procurement Action Plan was developed and time
banded with achievable objectives and we successfully
delivered the following business critical procurement
projects: E-Recruitment solution, Forensic Services,
and Witness Safety.
We also reviewed efficiency savings in light of the
Gershon Review and redrafted the commercial terms and
conditions upon which the client will enter into
business for the future.
Results
Axios developed a Sustainable Procurement Strategy
that was successfully delivered within time and cost
parameters.
